How a home doctor visit works, step by step
If you have never booked a home doctor, this guide shows you the whole process, from the first message to the receipt.
1. Message us on WhatsApp
Message us at +56 9 5675 8880 with your district, address and symptoms. If the patient is an older adult or a child, tell us their age and whether they take medications.
2. We confirm the professional, the time and the price
We confirm which professional will see you, the time and the price. We work every day from 8:00 to 24:00 in Providencia, Ñuñoa, La Reina, Las Condes, Vitacura, Lo Barnechea, Peñalolén, La Florida, Santiago, Macul and Huechuraba. If your district is not on the list, ask us.
3. Prepare before the visit
- The patient's ID card or passport.
- The medications they take (name and dose) and allergies.
- Recent tests or reports.
- Access instructions: doorman, gate, house or apartment number (or hotel room).
4. The visit
The professional carries out a general clinical assessment: checks your vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, oxygen saturation, among others), talks with you about your symptoms and history, examines what is needed for your reason for consulting and prescribes treatment, a prescription or a referral if appropriate. It does not replace lab tests or imaging (which you can arrange separately at home) or emergency care.
5. Payment and receipt
- Daytime (8:00 to 19:00): CLP $120,000.
- Night (19:00 to 24:00), weekends and public holidays: CLP $150,000.
You receive a receipt to claim reimbursement from your Isapre or health insurer according to your plan (how to do it). Current prices are on the prices page (in Spanish).
After the visit
Follow the instructions you were given and consult again if symptoms change. If any warning sign appears (severe difficulty breathing, severe chest pain, loss of consciousness), call 131.
If there is a risk to life, don't wait: call 131 (SAMU) or go to the nearest emergency department. SmartDoctor is not an emergency service.
