How does at-home medical care work?
Message us on WhatsApp to arrange a time and location. A certified doctor or healthcare professional comes to your home with the equipment needed for your consultation or test.
What areas does the service cover?
In-person home care is available in Providencia, Ñuñoa, La Reina, Las Condes, Vitacura, Lo Barnechea, Peñalolén, La Florida, Santiago, Macul and Huechuraba. Ask us about other communes. Telemedicine is available across all of Chile.
Is the visit reimbursable through my Isapre or Fonasa?
Yes, we provide a reimbursable receipt that you can submit to your Isapre or health insurer according to your plan’s conditions.
What is the difference between in-person care and telemedicine?
In-person care is a medical visit at your home. Telemedicine is a video consultation via Google Meet or WhatsApp with the same professional backing, available across all of Chile.
How can I pay for my consultation?

Are SmartDoctor professionals certified?
Yes, our entire team is certified by the Health Superintendency. You can check the official registry at any time.
What can a doctor evaluate at home?
During a home visit, the doctor performs a general clinical evaluation: checks your vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, oxygen saturation, among others), discusses your symptoms and medical history, examines what's needed based on your reason for the visit, and prescribes treatment, a medical prescription, or a referral if needed. It doesn't replace lab tests or imaging (which you can arrange separately at home) or emergency care when the situation requires it.
When is it better to request a doctor at home instead of going to an emergency room?
A doctor at home is a good option when you need a medical evaluation but the situation isn't life-threatening: fever, general discomfort, mild to moderate respiratory symptoms, follow-up for a chronic condition, or when getting to a clinic is difficult, such as for older adults or people with reduced mobility. If the person shows signs of a real emergency, such as intense chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding, or signs of a stroke, go immediately to the nearest emergency room or call SAMU (131) instead of scheduling a home visit.
