How can I prepare an older family member for their home medical visit?
Before the visit, have their ID card, a list of the medications they take (name and dose), and any recent test results or medical reports on hand. Choose a quiet, well-lit space for the consultation, and let the professional know in advance about any special mobility needs. If your family member shows signs of a real emergency, such as intense pain, difficulty breathing, or loss of consciousness, seek emergency care immediately instead of scheduling a routine visit.
